Get local eats and benefit the South Placer Heritage Foundation

By Joyia Emard Loomis News Editor Save up your appetite because a smorgasbord of delectable tastes created by local chefs is heading your way. The 11th Annual Blue Goose Food Extravaganza will satiate appetites at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday, May 21 at the Blue Goose Fruit Shed. The event benefits the South Placer Heritage Foundation and the continuing renovation of the fruit shed. Taste-size servings from local and celebrity chefs, along with favorite family recipes include appetizers, side and main dishes and desserts. According to event organizer Lana Greenan, no one goes away hungry at this event. “The Blue Goose Food Extravaganza brings together celebrities from local media, local government, nonprofit groups, restaurants and businesses and individuals who love to cook,” Greenan said. Extravaganza chefs include Supervisor Jim Holmes, Placer County Treasurer Jenine Windeshausen, County Superintendent of Schools Gayle Garbolino-Mojica, Loomis town council members, representatives from local fire agencies and the Placer County Sheriff’s Department, and local business owners. Greenan said each chef prepares a recipe to share in taste-size samples and guests can sample as many as they wish. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at Blue Goose Produce and at Main Drug Store or online at bluegooseeventcenter.com.
