The Mother Lode Foundation of Auburn has awarded a $36,000 grant to Auburn Salvation Army for emergency and prevention services. The grant will be disbursed in four quarterly payments. The Salvation Army is experiencing growing demand for  food, shelter, clothing and case management assistance. Mother Lode board members Nick Willick, Don Ferretti, Barbara Besana and Dan Conners encourage community financial support for The Salvation Army during these difficult times for so many families. In a related matter, the Foundation awarded $5,000 toward the community garden project sponsored by Auburn Rotary Club. Some food from the garden is distributed through The Salvation Army. ~ Staff report
