Forest Lake, Bear River, Placer boys advance to tourney title games; Del Oro girls too

Brandon Camacho had 27 points and nine rebounds, Tim Schneider added 14 points and four boards, and the Forest Lake Christian High boys basketball team beat Stockton Christian 78-75 Friday to advance to the championship game of the Faith Christian Tournament.

Chase Augustino added 11 points and seven assists for the Falcons (2-0), who made 6 of 13 3-pointers and play Faith Christian in Saturday’s tournament title game.

Bear River 69, American Canyon 46 – Justin Beskeen scored 35 points Friday and Michael Raigoza chipped in with nine for Bear River (2-0), which advanced to the championship game of the American Canyon Tournament. The Bruins will take on San Rafael Saturday.

Placer 58, Shasta 38 – The Hillmen (2-0) advanced to the championship game of the Harlan Carter Tournament in Palo Cedro with another victory Friday night. Placer plays Enterprise at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Girls basketball

Del Oro 57, Bret Harte 13 – Stephanie Geyer had 12 points and six rebounds, Lauren Heyn added 10 points, and the Golden Eagles (2-0) now have the opportunity to win the Sonora Tournament for the eighth straight year Saturday with another win. Libby Reunite recorded seven points for Del Oro, which plays Alameda for the title.
