A man who sustained burns to his legs left the scene of a fire in an ambulance Tuesday night, according to fire officials. Cal Fire and Auburn Fire responded to a vegetation fire off the Russell Road exit in Auburn between 10:30 and 11 p.m., according to Auburn City Fire Chief Mark D’Ambrogi. “Apparently it was a transient camp and there was an individual who sustained burns to his legs,” D’Ambrogi said. Ambrogi said police were the first to respond to the incident. High-winds aggravated the fire, which was in an open space near the off-ramp, he said. Auburn Police officials said no report was taken from the incident. ~Sara Seyydin
