Eggplant chicken event was a success

Many residents of Loomis may not notice the current economic environment of Loomis businesses by just driving down Taylor Road. But our downtown business community has been facing the same downturn as other local, state and national economies. As a concerned and affected business owner, I had searched for ways in which I could work with the Town Council and Chamber of Commerce to help promote and build a more stable and quality business climate. Together with a few other residents and business owners, I offered support of many town council projects. One project in particular promotes new festivals and events; these types of activities encourage consumer interest in our town, which could potentially be a significant economic stimulus. I believe the town provided partial funding for at least three new events, including the first-ever chicken race during the Eggplant Festival. This event was great fun and succeeded in bringing in new festival attendees. In particular, I would like to thank the three council members who helped make it happen. I believe that we have some resolute council members who are truly interested in improving and helping our community. Charlotte Langston Wild Chicken Coffee, Tea & Specialty Drinks
