Eagles soaring after another big road win

The Del Oro High volleyball team capped off a terrific opening week of league play with a thrilling 23-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-12 win at Nevada Union Thursday night.
The Golden Eagles trailed in Game 4 before rallying to win that game and the decisive fifth.
Junior Morgan Lees led Del Oro (2-0 SFL, 12-7 overall) with 18 kills while Stephanie Solich added 15 kills and three aces. Tatum Jungsten served up 16 points with two aces to go with nine kills. Megan Hentschke was outstanding with 17 digs and Amy Heyn added 17 digs and 48 assists.
Del Oro’s junior varsity lost in two games and the freshmen won in three games.

Woodland Christian 3, Forest Lake 0 at Woodland — The Falcons suffered their first defeat in Central Valley Christian League play as hitting and passing errors plagued them on the road.
Emily English had six kills and Morgan Koch added five kills and seven digs for Forest Lake (3-1 CVCL). Aly English dished out six assists for the Falcons.

Foresthill 3, Sacramento Waldorf 0 at Foresthill — The Wildfires cruised to 3-1 in the CVCL as Sady Stroup served up 16 straight points in Game 2 and finished with six aces to spark the team.
Caitlin McCann ripped nine kills and Natasha Davey added four aces for Foresthill. Stroup had a team-high nine digs.
