Eagles clip Timberwolves again

ROSEVILLE — The Del Oro High baseball team exploded for five runs in the seventh inning Monday to beat Woodcreek for the second time in four days, 11-6. The Golden Eagles (6-11, 4-4 Sierra Foothill League) tied the score at 6 on a solo home run by Casey Cox in the top of the sixth. Del Oro starter Mason Magleby allowed all six runs — only three earned — in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six, walked four and got a no-decision. Cole Saunders earned the win in 2 2/3 strong innings of relief. He fanned four and walked one. Brian Rowe went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the decisive seventh. Hunter Pahl, Codey Gandy and Cox had two hits apiece. Gandy also stole two bases, including home in the seventh. Woodcreek fell to 7-11 overall and 2-8 in league. The Golden Eagles, who overcame four errors to even their SFL record, will play at Nevada Union Wednesday at 4 p.m.
