A Rocklin woman suffered major injuries on Interstate 80 Sunday night when she lost control of the truck she was driving and it slammed into the concrete center median. Still in hospital Monday, she is the subject of an investigation into whether she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The California Highway Patrol reported Monday that the truck overturned several times after hitting the barrier and 21-year-old Hillary Cantrell was ejected from the vehicle. She was the lone occupant of the Chevy Silverado and traveling west. Cantrell was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by CHP helicopter. She had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, Officer David Martinez said. The crash took place on westbound I-80, east of the Gilardi Road overcrossing at Penryn. It was reported at 10:55 p.m. The CHP stated Cantrell is suspected of being under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. The collision remains under investigation. – Gus Thomson
