BISHOP _ Eight of California High School Rodeo Association District 3?s finest qualified for the High School Rodeo National Finals to take place in Rocklin Springs, Wyo. next month with excellent performances at the State Rodeo. At the top of the list was Jordan Sparrowk who took first in boys cutting and also qualified for team roping along with Seth Bowling. The duo came in tied for third with the top four in each event qualifying for nationals. Garnering second place finishes were Jaed Hare (steer wrestling) and Clayton Brum (saddle bronc). Hare missed landing in the top spot by just two points. Brum trailed the winner by five points. Brum also qualified in bull riding earning 31 ½ points for fourth place. District 3?s Robert Braiser claimed the third-place spot with 33 points. Also coming in at No. 3 at state were Madison Horton and Taylor Biglow. Horton scored 37 points in breakaway roping and Biglow tallied 47 in pole bending. Horton ended up just one point away from second place and Taylor Biglow two from second.
