Del Oro High School's tennis team moved closer to a key battle with Sierra Foothill League rival Granite Bay by handing Roseville a 9-0 blanking last week on the Golden Eagles’ courts. Del Oro, slated to host Granite Bay April 28 in a rematch which will most likely determine the SFL title, had none of its matches against the Tigers go three sets. Brett Bacharach, Charlie Wyatt, Andrew Milton, Brandon Bailey, Taylor Reiff and Brad Taylor all notched respective singles match victories. Also playing well were Taylor Carrington and Nick Koop, who remained undefeated at No. 1 doubles, posting a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Matt Hanson and Brandt Steinmetz also scored a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 while Seth Ahlquist and Travis Denna combined for a 6-3, 6-4 triumph. Del Oro, which also bested Nevada 9-0 last week, hosted Oakmont Tuesday.
