Del Oro golf roundup: Eagles win McNair InvitationalBy: Journal sports staff
The Golden Eagles won the McNair Invitational for the second time in as many years.
Playing in the 18-hole, par-72 tournament at the Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, the Del Oro boys golf team topped a field that included Jesuit and St. Mary’s, with a team total of 389 strokes.
“It was a nice win,” said Eagles coach Hal Steinback. “It was our third 18-hole tournament and we’ve had two seconds and we got out first win. It’s a prestigious tournament down there in the valley. I was really proud of the way the kids performed, especially under the conditions.”
Del Oro, which beat St Mary’s by four strokes and third-place Jesuit by nine, was led by Josh Sedeno’s score of 73. He was followed by fellow Eagles Justin Raskin (74), Bobby Mullen (80), Louie Euer (81), Ryan Takayama (81) and Jahaan Nargussi (87).

A pair of Del Oro golfers took a break from league action last weekend and competed in the Greater Sacramento area’s First Tee tournament played Sunday at Morgan Creek.
Leading the way with his third straight win in the series was Louie Euer, a Del Oro sophomore. He was the overall winner with a two-under-par 70.
Josh Sedeno, a freshman on the Del Oro golf team, won the Boys 14-15 division with a score of 76.
