Del Oro girls survive, face N.U. for SFL title

Junior Brianna Ruiz nailed the winning shot with eight seconds to play and Del Oro High kept its Sierra Foothill League title hopes alive with a 46-44 win at Woodcreek Tuesday night. Del Oro trailed 13-6 after one quarter and 26-19 at the half before clawing back into the game. THe Eagles tied it at 35 at the end of the third. Ruiz finished with 13 points and four assists. Stephanie Geyer had 11 points and 15 rebounds while Natalie Sohn added eight points and seven boards. Del Oro (8-1 SFL, 16-10 overall) will travel to Grass Valley Thursday to face the Miners (8-1, 14-11).
