Tanner Huber rushed for three touchdowns and Jake Jackson recorded three quarterback sacks and a pass interception along with adding another score as Del Oro High’s freshman football team handed Enochs of Modesto a 32-6 defeat Thursday in Loomis. Tyler Johnson also scored for the Golden Eagles (3-0) when he fell on an Enochs fumble in the end zone. Huber, Johnson and Nick O’Sullivan keyed the defense for the Eagles, who built a 26-0 lead at halftime. Colfax 28 Union Mine 0 — Austin Young, Sam Quinlan, Shawn Rawlins and Nolan Karbowski all scored on touchdown runs for the Falcons, who went on the road and improved to 2-1 with the win over the previously undefeated Diamondbacks.. Zac Coffman added a pass interception and 50-yard kick return to set up one Colfax score. Hunter Owens and Roger Lillie also had strong games for the Falcons who led at halftime, 13-0. Bear River 23, Woodcreek 12 — Jim Bamberg and John Casere both rushed for Bruins touchdowns and Brandon Wooner stripped a Woodcreek runner and returned the recovered fumble for another score as the Bruins improved to 3-0 on the season. Bear River, which led 16-0 at halftime, also received a strong defensive outing from Dillon Huffman. Casa Roble 33 Placer 6 — The injury-riddled Hillmen started slow and couldn’t make up any ground against the visiting Rams in the non-league loss. The Hillmen, whose lone score came on a run from Johnny Foley, also received strong play on both sides of the ball from Casey Sabins. Jordan Walls, quarterback D.J. Rodriguez and David Daniels also drew coach Jim Gray’s praise for good efforts.
