Del Oro drops Cordova in final Arnett tuneup

Luke Cochran’s big dunk midway through the fourth quarter highlighted Del Oro High’s rally past Cordova for a 56-49 victory Wednesday night in Loomis. The Golden Eagles trailed heading into the fourth quarter of their final tuneup before the Kendall Arnett Tournament. Superb defense and free-throw shooting carried Del Oro late in the game. The Eagles drilled 9 of 11 from the line in the final frame. Junior Jordan Broyles finished with 16 points to pace Del Oro (8-2). Luis Parache scored 10 while Kyle Russell and Cochran scored eight each. The Eagles will face Del Campo on Tuesday at 5 p.m. to open the Kendall.
