Del Oro drops another close one

The Del Oro High baseball team scored three runs in the top of the first but fell to Nevada Union 4-3 in Grass Valley Thursday. Trailing 3-1, the Miners rallied in the bottom of the sixth and scored the go-ahead run on a squeeze bunt. Cole Perez allowed only four hits for Del Oro. He walked two and struck out one. The Golden Eagles had only four hits themselves in dropping their second one-run game this week. Del Oro (10-11 overall, 7-5 Sierra Foothill League) hosts Roseville Monday.
