Del Oro High School’s first graduating class – the Class of 1961 – held their 50th reunion on Sept. 9 through 11, in conjunction with Colfax and Placer High schools. The students all attended Placer High together until Colfax and Del Oro schools were opened. Del Oro principal Dan Gayaldo and retired teacher Steve March welcomed the Class of ‘61 to campus and provided them with a tour. “The School looks great. The parents and community should be extremely proud of such a top-level school and educationally centered administration,” said Class of ’61 member Stan Munoz. Munoz said 37 of the 53 graduates in his class participated in the 50th reunion event, with attendees coming from as far away as Minnesota, Idaho, Utah, Washington, and Oregon to attend.
