Cowpoke Foudation gives back to community

-A +A
Bert and Carol Braun, of the Cowpoke Foundation, made a donation of $4,000 to the Breast Health Center at Sutter Roseville Medical Center last week. The Brauns are also founders of the Cowpoke Fall Gathering. The Breast Health Center is a comprehensive center designed to meet the wide variety of needs women have in relation to their breast health. The mission of the Cowpoke Foundation, based in Loomis, is to preserve and promote the American cowboy way. This year the Cowpoke Foundation teamed up with Tough Enough to Wear Pink, an organization sponsored by Wrangler dedicated to increasing breast cancer awareness, and chose the Breast Health Center at Sutter Roseville Medical Center as a beneficiary of a portion of the funds from the 2010 Fall Gathering, held in November at the Blue Goose Fruit Shed. Additional beneficiaries were the South Placer Heritage Foundation, which received $9,000 for continued renovation of the Blue Goose, and the Loomis Union School District, which received $3,000 for its band and choir programs.
