Court denies Clover Valley lawsuits

Sacramento Superior Court has ruled not to move forward on two lawsuits to stop development of Clover Valley, Terry Davis, Sierra Club Mother Lodge Chapter representative, confirmed Monday evening. The suits were filed by the Sierra Club and Clover Valley Foundation, and the Town of Loomis against the City of Rocklin. “It certainly is sad,” Davis said. “We’ve always thought that Clover Valley is such a unique amenity. It is something that should be saved for future generations. We thought the judge would agree with some of our arguments.” The judge took the maximum 90 days he could by law to decide, Davis said. The 622-acre Clover Valley is situated between Rocklin and Loomis, south of Lincoln. A revised plan for development would include 404 homes, down from the originally approved 558. --Gloria Young
