Colfax Boys & Girls; DO Girls Top 1st Power Ratings

Colfax’s boys and girls teams and Del Oro’s girls found themselves Monday at the top of their respective divisions in the first release of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section’s basketball power ratings. Colfax’s boys hold down the No. 1 spot in Div. IV ahead of Modesto Christian, Summerville and Amador. The Falcons are 15-6 overall and 3-1 in Pioneer Valley League play going into Wednesday night’s home game versus Lincoln. Bear River is in the 19th position. The Colfax girls, via a 41-36 win over Bear River last Friday, emerged as the first ratings leader in girls Div. IV. Bear River, meanwhile, is in the No. 2 position. In the girls Div. II ranks, Del Oro is sitting at No. 1 followed by Bella Vista, El Camino and St. Mary’s of Stockton. In Div. III, Placer’s girls are 16th and Placer’s boys are 19th. The top 16 teams in each division in the final ratings qualify for the playoffs. In Div. V boys, Auburn Christian is rated 11th, Forest Lake Christian 12th and Foresthill 30th. In Div. V girls, Foresthill is 5th, Forest Lake Christian 17th and Auburn Christian 24th. The next ratings will be released next Monday for games played through Feb. 5.
