Classic film hits the big screen

See “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the State Theatre, located at 985 Lincoln Way in Auburn. Tickets for the film are $8, and can be purchased at the door. The box office opens at 6 p.m. Pre-film festivities include live music by Gypsy Standard Time and a wine and beer bar. A barbecue dinner will also be served beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the Marquee Room. Dinner tickets are $8. “Butch Cassidy” is being shown as part of the Cinema at the State Theatre Third Thursday series. Coming up June 20 is “American Graffiti.” Proceeds from the film series benefit the State Theatre restoration, a project of the Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center.
