While Placer County Transit is operating on a regular schedule today — Monday, April 13 — many county offices are closed as a cost-saving measure. Also uninterrupted are county emergency response and 24-hour-a-day services. These include law enforcement and emergency support to individuals, including Child Protective Services. The office closures is one of four days this fiscal year instituted by the board of supervisors as a cost-saving measure. About 2,200 county employees are taking unpaid, mandatory time off.
