On Saturday, Victory Velo Racing, a new bicycle racing team based out of Victory Velo Bike Shop in Auburn, presents the First Loomis Basin Sierra de Montserrat Circuit Race.

The race takes place in the rural sanctuary of Sierra de Montserrat, a private residential community that runs along Rutherford Canyon Road between Barton and Laird roads.

There are 12 different race categories, from beginner to advanced level, based on experience, age and gender. Each race lasts from 40 to 60 minutes, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 3:40 p.m.

This brand new bicycle race features a closed-to-traffic course of vineyard-lined rolling hills, technical European-style roundabouts and a hilltop finish. As a spectator, attendees can watch the races unfold before their very eyes as cyclists carry out their strategies and tactics.

The Victory Velo Racing team consists of more than 50 men and women, young and old, able-bodied and disabled.
