A 30-year-old woman is behind bars after Auburn Police Department Detective Dave Neher took her into custody Thursday on charges of auto theft.

On Jan. 8 of this year Marci Dean Bowman and the victim were at a mutual friend’s residence in the 700 block of Grandview Drive in Auburn when Bowman allegedly got access to the victim’s car keys and left with the victim’s car without their permission according to a press release issued by Auburn Police Friday morning.

The vehicle was recovered in a shopping center parking lot in Roseville a day after the car was stolen. Bowman was in custody Friday at the Placer County Jail on the auto theft charge and an out-of-county warrant and her bail was set at $85,000.
