Del Oro High School is now accepting nominations for its new hall of fame class.
The school is taking nominations for athletes, coaches, teams, staff and community members from the classes of 1961-2000 for the fourth annual Del Oro Athletic Hall of Fame.
Greg Hoffman, Charles Gardner, Beth Wilson, Ron Jones, and Rolf Moeller were just a few of those honored at last year’s event along with the 1988-89 basketball team, 1993 football team and the Gary Doupnik Family.
A dinner ceremony will be held for the 2013 hall of fame class in April.
Nomination forms may be obtained at Del Oro High School and online at puhsd.k12.ca.us/deloro. The deadline for submitting a nomination is March 3.

Honors for Brahce, Sander
The Sacramento Chapter of the National Football Foundation/College Hall of Fame announced it will be honoring Isaac Brahce and Stone Sander of Placer High School for their scholastic abilities and football prowess. The banquet will be held on March 7 at the Sacramento Elks Club. Brahce, who ran for 1,188 yards and 11 touchdowns last year, and Sander, who recently signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Sacramento State, both made key contributions in helping the Hillmen win their first Pioneer Valley League title in 2012.
Signups for lacrosse open
The Sierra Foothills Lacrosse Club says it’s not too late to get started on one of the fastest growing sports in the country. The club, which has begun preseason practices, still has room for new lacrosse players on all of its teams. The club has teams for boys under 11 through the high school varsity level. Practices are from 4 to 5:30 p.m at Penryn/LDS Recreational Park, 3211 Boulder Creek Place, Penryn.
