Area hoopsters fare well at Weimar's Warrior Classic

Several area junior high boys basketball squads fared well at last weekend’s Warrior Classic 8th grade tournament hosted by Weimar Hills School. Penryn, Powers, Loomis, Franklin, Placer and Newcastle all entered squads into the two-day 16-team event that was won by host Weimar Hills in a 46-45 title game victory over Seven Hills of Nevada City. Three area players —Trevor Pistochini of Penryn, Aaron Freeman of Loomis and Josh Kreiger of Franklin — earned all-tourney honors. Pistochini was also the high point man for the tournament with 71 points in three games.
