PlacerArts’ AGROart competition returns to the Mountain Mandarin Festival. Festival dates are Friday through Sunday, Nov. 19 to 21, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. The AGROart competition is Saturday. This ultimate opportunity to play with your food has a few simple rules. All AGROart sculpture must contain fruits and/or vegetables, with use of PlacerGrown produce encouraged. The entire sculpture must be created onsite, and all framework must be completely covered. There are eight age-related entry categories for teams and individuals. Teams may consist of no more than three persons. Winners receive cash awards. MANDARIN PAGEANT APPLICATIONS OPEN A mandarin queen will be crowned Nov. 20 during the Mountain Mandarin Festival.
