Although leads are being followed up, there is no suspect in custody as of press time for a bank robber who has hit at least two area banks, according to law enforcement officials.

The robber first struck Wells Fargo on Granite Drive in Rocklin on Aug. 9. The teller was held at gunpoint and the robber got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, law enforcement officials said.
The latest robbery took place on Aug. 18 at the Chase Bank at 2520 Grass Valley Highway in north Auburn.

The suspect again demanded money from tellers at gunpoint and prevented customers from leaving during the robbery, according to law enforcement officials. The suspect got away and fled on foot.

In Auburn, the ‘gloved robber’ was wearing tan pants with a dark sweatshirt titled “El Paso USA” on the front. In the Rocklin robbery, he was wearing blue jeans and a hoodie with no lettering, according to law enforcement officials.

Placer County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Andrew Scott  Tuesday said that detectives are following up on leads.
