A 3-year-old Loomis boy drowned in the family pool on Monday, according to Dena Erwin, Placer County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. Erwin said Sheriff’s and emergency personnel from South Placer Fire District responded at 11:15 a.m., June 13, to a home on Rhone Court, in the Clos du Lac development. Erwin said Michael Tsiros, 3, was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where he died. Lawrence Bettencourt, deputy chief with South Placer Fire, said Station 19 received the call that a “child fell in pool, not breathing.” He said respondents were on the scene within five minutes, at 11:20 a.m. Bettencourt said CPR was in progress when crews arrived and that the child’s mother and a neighbor were attending to the boy. At 11:24 a.m., four paramedics took over, loaded the patient, continued CPR and other emergency procedures and transported the boy. He said the child did not regain consciousness.
