This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week, established by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to highlight the importance of continuing flu vaccination this holiday season and beyond.
Sutter Health encourages residents who have not received their flu shots this year to do so.
Last year was the worst flu season in more than 40 years, according to Gary Zavoral, Sutter Health’s media relations program manager.
“The CDC reported that 80,000 Americans died from the flu in 2017 to 2018, including 180 children. More than 70 percent of those hospitalized with the flu were not immunized,”” Zavoral said. “This year, the flu season is just beginning but the CDC expects it to be another tough one.”
The new Sutter Walk-In Care is at 781 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Suite 170, in Roseville.
